DEATH DUE TO PARALYSIS - - MRS. J. H. PEFLEY PASSED AWAY AT HOME
OF DAUGHTER MRS. G. T. MORROW. - Aged Lady Grow Gradually Weaker
Since Receiving Stroke Three Weeks Ago. - - -
Mrs. J. H. Pefley, an aged and well-known resident of this
county, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. T.
Morrow on north Cass Street about 12:30 o'clock this afternoon, death being due to a stroke of paralysis with which she was
stricken about three weeks ago.
Mrs. Pefley, formerly Miss Amanda Pearson, was born in this
county on May 8, 1840, where she had spent her entire life. In
1862 she was united in marriage to J. H. Pefley, of Liberty
township, to which union six children were born, three of whom
survive namely, Mrs. J. A. Bettisworth, of Coffeyville, Kan.;
Mrs. Charles Greer, of Anderson and Mrs. G. T. Morrow, of this
city. She is also survived by her husband with whom she shared
the happiness of wedded life on a farm south of the city until
stricken with paralysis at which time she was removed to the
Morrow home, one brother, M. B. Pearson, of Lafontaine, and one
sister, Mrs. J. T. Lines, of Springfield, Mo.
The funeral services will be held from the home of her daughter, Mrs. G. T. Morrow, at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning.

Jos. Pefley Dies in Coffeeville, Kans. - -
Word has been received of the death of Joseph Pefley, which
occurred October 20, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Etta
Bettisworth of near Coffeeville, Kansas.
Mr. Pefley was well known in Liberty township, as he had spent
practically all his life in or near Lfontaine, later residing
near Wabash. Tom Pefley, of Dora is a brother and Mrs. Claude
White of Lagro is granddaughter of the deceased.
Funeral services were held in Coffeeville yesterday.
The body of Mr. Pefley was brought here this afternoon and taken
to the home of Clifford Dale, west Pike street. Following short
funeral services tomorrow at the house, burial will be made in
the Wabash Cemetery.
