969 - ARTHUR PEFLEY (son of No.967) married at Indianapolis, Ind., Apr. 30th, 1895 JENNIE ELIZABETH MEEKER, born Nov. 26th, 1862, in Indiana (dau. of WILLIAM EARINGTON and MARY ELIZABETH (Alley) MEEKER). Arthur is buried at Ventura, Calif. He spent his early life on the farm at Dora, near Wabash, Ind. Later he took up the building trade in Indianapolis. He was an Odd Fellow, 32nd Degree Mason, Knight Templar and a Noble of the Knights of the Mystic Shrine. The last building he completed before coming to California was the remodeling of the Benjamin Harrison Home for Russell Harrison. Many fine buildings throughout the state of California stand as monuments of his work, especially in Ventura. A man of few words, but of many good deeds.
