490 - HENRY ALEXANDER HOUTZ, (son of No.489), married Feb. 21st, 1884, ETHIE MAE COLE, born
Dec. 28th, 1864, died May 14th, 1934, Albion, Neb., (dau. of JACOB and EMILY (Miller) COLE).
Henry A. Houtz was born at Salem, Va., and removed with the
parents to Illinois, following the Civil War. He received his
education in his home district and then attended Christian
College at Eureka, Ill. He prepared himself for a teacher and taught in Woodford Co., Ill. He married in 1884 and soon after
went to Nebraska to settle on a farm about five miles southwest
of Albion, in Boone Co., where he has resided ever since.
Soon after moving to Nebraska he was ordained a minister of the
Church of Christ, at Roselma. He has not actively followed the
ministry, but has held revival meetings and assists the local
pastor in his work. His vantage place is his farm where he may
still be found busily engaged in caring for his stock and still
assists in tilling the soil.
