489 - SARAH GARST, (dau. of No.443), married in Roanoke Co., Va., May 9, 1855, JOHN CLINE HOUTZ, born July 19th, 1829, Botetourt Co., Va., died at Secor, Ill., Feb. 22nd, 1895, (son of HENRY and SUSAN (Brown) HOUTZ).

Henry Houtz was a son of John Houtz, who went from Lancaster Co., Penna., to Virginia about 1795. Henry had a brother, John, Jr., and a sister, Hettie, John Houtz, Jr. was the father of Charles and Sarah Houtz. Charles married Christina Garst (see No.460). Sarah married Henry Garst (see No.445). Hettie Houtz married David Nofsinger. Their son William married America Graybill.

John Cline Houtz was a farmer. This Houtz family lived near Secor, Ill., where they moved just after the Civil War. After the death of the parents the children all moved to Albion, Boone Co., Neb.
