359 - LYDIA ETTER (dau. of No.341) married in (Putnam Co., IN 27 Oct 1855, Book 2, page 107) ENOCH CANADA MORRIS, born May 15th, 1830, Brown Co., Ind., died Oct. 11th, 1920, Windsor, Ill. Both are buried at Bethany Church Cemetery, Windsor, Ill. Enoch was a great grandson of Robert Morris, who signed the Declaration of Independence. He served as a volunteer in the Mexican war.
Enoch and Lydia lived in Putnam Co., Ind., until Oct. 1874, when they moved to Cumberland Co., Ill. In Oct. 1875 they moved to Shelby Co., Ill., near Middlesworth. In Oct. 1877 they moved to Windsor township, Ill. where they lived until Feb. 1906, when they moved to the city of Windsor with their son John W. Morris and lived there until they died.
From 1877 to 1885 Enoch was engaged in timber work, mostly in getting out railroad ties, chopping wood etc. He was a member of the old Predestinarian Church on Walnut Creek in Putnam Co., Ind.
Lydia was formerly a member of the Church of the Brethren near Clinton Falls, Ind. After she came to Shelby Co., Ill., she transferred her membership to the Church of Christ at Bethany.
