272 - ABRAHAM PEFFLEY (son of No.136) married:

1 - Jan. 19th, 1850 in Putnam Co., Ind., MARA ANN CRODIAN, born Dec. 6th, 1825, died May 24th, 1886 buried in Blakesburg Cemetery. (dau. of HENRY C. CRODIAN and MARA CRODIAN). Henry was born Jan. 1st, 1795 and died Dec. 22nd, 1874. His wife was born Jan. 16th, 1787, and died May 7th, 1874. Both are buried at Blakesburg Cemetery.

Marriage 2 - July 24th, 1887 at Ladoga, Ind., AMANDA S. SHAVER, born Sept. 12th, 1855, and died April 28, 1937. Abraham went to Putnam Co., in 1830, where his father (David Peffley) settled on the banks of Raccoon Creek in Russell township. Abraham became a prominent farmer. He inherited the Peffley mechanical trait. After the death of his first wife (Mara Ann Crodian) he moved to Ladoga, Montgomery County, Indiana, where he spent the remainder of his life. His old home in Putnam Co., is still standing, but the school house nearby has burned down. This was known as the Cairo school and all of his children received their education there.

The following records of his children are from Abraham's bible, now in possession of his son Frank Peffley, Russellville, Ind.
