261 - LOTTIE HULIT (dau. of No.260) was born January 20, 1885, in Fairbury, Jefferson Co., Nebraska. Her Birth Certicate indicated erroniously "Charlotte," but was amended to correct it to 'Lottie'. Lottie died April 14, 1964, in Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., California. She married at Chester, Neb., May 15th, 1904, in Chester, Thayer Co., Nebraska, to THOMAS OLIVER EMERY, who was born Apr. 12th, 1886, in Chester, Thayer Co. Nebraska, (son of JAMES CLEMENT EMERY and ABIGAIL CHESTER, who were both natives of England, immigrating circa 1848 to Potosi, Grant Co. Wisconsin). Thomas died March 26, 1940, in Compton, Los Angeles Co., California, and is interred next to Lottie at the Angeles Abbey Mausoleum, in Compton, California.

Thomas Oliver Emery and his family lived in a sod house just outside of Lincoln, Nebraska. The sod house was photographed with the family about 1912. This is a hand-colored version of a B/W photo, note the telephone wire near the right entrance door.
