Will of Jacob Peffley, County of Dauphin, Will book G. page 591 -
I Jacob Peffley of East Hanover in the county of Dauphin, State
of Penna being of sound mind do make this my last will and testament Item, I give and bequeath unto my two sons John and Levi the farm where I now live on lying in East Hanover adjoining
lands of John Mohn, Leonard Ramler and others containing about 80
acres more or less and also including the mountain land lying in
Fishing Valley containing about 17 acres and I do hereby include
all my personal property in my farm where I live such as shall be
here at the time of my death including my share of a certain
promissory note now payable by Henry B. Shirk.
Also including 60 acres of my farm in said East Hanover formerly
belonging to my father. I direct the line to commence on a line
now by Daniel Ulrich so as to cut off said amount along the line
of Augustus Poorman Strait across from Ulrich's (or Alricks) toward the village of Grantville so as to make said sons John and Levi shall pay to my sister Barbara the sum of $1,000.00 out of
said 60 acres for the one half of a certain obligation she now
holds against me. Item, I give and bequeath to my daughter
Elizabeth, now intermarried with William Ohmacht the balance of
said aforementioned farm with the buildings containing also about
60 acres more or less for which she is to pay the sum of
$1,000.00 out of said mansion property and must let my sister
Barbara live there and keep a cow and everything the same as at
present and in case my sister Barbara should ('care'?) or move
away then she the said daughter Elizabeth shall pay the
aforementioned thousand dollars immediately and to comply with
the other articles and as touching all expense of my funeral, lying in sickness and other necessary my two sons John Peffley
and Levi Peffley shall pay out of their shares both alike but
whereof I Jacob Peffley the testator to this my will set my hand
and seal this 23rd day of April, 1868.
