DEED TO NICHOLAS PEFFLEY'S CHILDREN. (County of Dauphin, State of Penna., Deed Book C., Vol. 1, Page 503), THIS INDENTURE made the Nineteenth day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Nine between Wm. Allen of the City of Philadelphia, Esq., and Margaret his wife of the one part and Jacob Peffeley, David Peffeley, Ann Peffeley and Barbara Peffeley, the children of Nicholas Peffeley late of Bethel township in the county of Lancaster, yeoman, deceased of the other Whereas and by proprietary patent dated the first day of July One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirty Six there was granted unto Ann Brown a certain tract of land in the county of Lancaster beginning at a marked black oak at a corner of Thomas Lower's land * to the place of beginning containing Three hundred acres and allowance of six per cent with the appurtenances. To hold to her and said Ann Brown her heirs and assigns forever under the yearly quit rent of one half penny Sterling per acre or value in coin current on the first day of March yearly forever as by the said recited patent recorded at Philadelphia in patent Book A, Vol. 8, page 76, indenture of release bearing date the Twentieth day of May One Thousand Seven Forty One between the said Ann Brown of the one part and the said Wm. Allen of the other part * Ann Brown did grant unto the said Wm.
Allen all that said described tract of land and the said Wm. Allen did
bargain and sell the same unto the said Nicholas Peffeley in his lifetime but the
said Nicholas died before any conveyance was made to him and his heirs of the
premises leaving issue only the said Jacob, David, Catherine, Ann and Barbara. * In the consideration of the sum of Forty pounds lawful
money to them paid by the said Nicholas Peffeley in his lifetime as the sum of
eighty four pounds eighteen shillings like money to them likewise paid by the said
Jacob, David, Catherine, Ann and Barbara * (in their actual possession
now being) In witness whereof the said parties set their hands and
seals hereunto the day and year just above written.

Signed, Sealed and delivered William Allen in the presence of us. Margt Allen. William Parsons. Nathan Allen Junr. Received from the within named Jacob Peffeley, David Peffeley, Catherine Peffeley, Ann Peffeley and Barbara Peffeley by the hand of Rudolph Hunsecker the sum of eighty four pounds consideration money within mentioned to be paid by them to me.

This Indenture made the 31st day of March in the year of Our Lord 1764, to them paid by the said David Peffley ** sold between Jacob Peffley and Esther, his wife, Ann Peffley and Barbara all of the twp. of Bethel in the County of Lancaster and Province of Penna. of the one part and David Peffley of the same place, yeoman, of the other part and (land granted by Wm. Allen and Margaret, his wife, to Jacob, David, (and a certain Catherine since deceased) Ann and Barbara Peffley) for 65 poundsWilliam Allen

unto the said David Peffley their rights and parts or undivided shares of a certain piece or parcel of land being part of the above described tract of 300 acres of land, now in the actual possession of the said David Peffley *

COUNTY OF DAUPHIN, State of Penna. Deed Book C, Vol. 1, page 509.

This Indenture made the 20th day of May 1775 between John Newcummit and Anna, his wife of the one part and David Peffele of Bethel township ** did grant unto David Peffley (party here to) Catherine Peffley, Ann Peffly, and Barbara Peffley 300 acres and wheras the said Catherine Peffley intermarried with a certain Henry Fawner who with his said wife, Catherine, died intestate leaving issue one only child to-wit Anna {Fawner], the wife of the said John Nyecummit party hereto to whom the full equally divided one-fifth part of the above ** 300 acres descended and became heir to her said father and mother ** consideration 70 pounds.

In a deed in the estate of Henry Fawner in 1783 the above John Newcummit is spoken of as John Neucomer.
